I’m excited to be working with Sudha Jamthe on a new location-sharing project that we’ve called tmeet. It’s a web site running at http://tmeet.me with a Google maps interface that you can use to easily find locations and post them to Twitter using tiny urls that we generate.
To get started tmeeting, come visit tmeet.me and enter an address in the search box or use the map controls to find and mark a location. Then type your message in the text bubble.

Then when you press the tmeet this place button, we will redirect you to Twitter with the message box filled in with your message and a tmeet.me URL for your location and message. Just hit the Twitter update button and your message goes live!

Then when anyone clicks on the URL, the tmeet.me web site will show them the map and location that you chose and your message.

To send a private message
To send a private message to one of your Twitter followers, just use the usual Twitter convention and begin your message with a “d” followed by the username of the Twitter follower that you want to tmeet.
Feel free to use tmeet.me URLs in other places: emails, instant messages, SMS messages, whatever. We commit to keeping them around for at least six months, maybe longer for frequently-accessed tmeets.
Mobile apps are coming
Would anyone be surprised?

tmeet.me looks cool. One suggestion, when i cut & pasted an address with \n it took only 1st line. May be if you make the address field a text area, or do some javascript filtering you will be able to make this work and save a lot of pain to users.
