The Buzz is my bag

I just ordered this beautiful Buzz Sling Bag from Tom Bihn.

It looks like the perfect companion for Caltrain trips with my MacBook Pro.

Of course, given the obvious similarity of our names, I looked hard for a timbuk2 bag that I liked, but couldn’t find anything as tight and featured as the Buzz… so now, it’s “a TB for TB”.

I got my Buzz last week; it took just two days to get from Seattle to the Bay Area by UPS ground. I’ve been mostly happy with my new bag. My only complaint is that I’m still not used to a strap over my right shoulder instead of my left. But the workmanship of this bag is premium and its size is just what I wanted. The Buzz is about as small as you can make a bag for a 15” laptop. It almost disappears when I’m wearing it, so no more clumsily bumping around at crowded meetups.

And did you see that iPhone pouch on the front strap?

Second Update: Saturday 29 Aug 2008

The buckle on my Buzz cracked last week after nearly a year of hard daily use. But after a quick post on the easy-to-find Tom Bihn feedback form, I immediately got a reply from Darcy at Tom Bihn promising a replacement in the mail. It arrived a few days later along with a nice surprise accessory. Still sold!

p.s. That iPhone pouch is the best.
